At St. Teresa’s Primary School, our Catholic faith is the foundation of our school community, underpinning every aspect of our curriculum and guiding our ethos. Religious Education (RE) is at the heart of our learning and is delivered with the same dedication and rigor as all core subjects. It is both an independent subject, an integral part of the school’s culture and environment.

We provide a stimulating and inclusive Catholic environment where each child is encouraged to grow and develop, learning to follow the example and teachings of Jesus. Our RE program is tailored to suit the unique needs and abilities of every pupil, incorporating engaging activities, real-life experiences, and opportunities for prayer and worship.

At St. Teresa’s, children are inspired to ‘Build God’s Kingdom’ by taking responsibility for their actions, relationships, and care for others and the environment. We work closely with our local parish and diocese to support both individual and community initiatives. Additionally, we encourage our pupils to engage with global challenges through charitable efforts, fostering a sense of compassion and service.

Through Religious Education, children gain an understanding of how beliefs shape lives, promoting mutual respect and cooperation between Christianity and other faiths. This approach ensures that faith is not just taught but lived, shaping every aspect of the St. Teresa’s experience. The school follows the Come and See scheme of work, adapting lessons to engage our children through a creative approach that includes deep thinking, critical questions, and a hermeneutical approach to study scripture.

Our RE Subject Lead is Miss S Gibbons.
