At St. Teresa’s, charity is at the very heart of our Catholic faith. The essence of “charity” is love—just as Jesus commanded us to “Love God with all your heart, and your neighbour as yourself.” Loving, learning, serving and growing in faith with our community are at the core of our Mission Statement, and we are proud of St. Teresa’s historic commitment to charity. Our children learn to give, to be kind, and to be generous, whether it’s supporting Caritas Diocese of Salford, or helping others further away through CAFOD. We’re particularly proud of our strong link with the refugee charity Revive, highlighted by our Refugee Day each September. Additionally, we support mental health charity Young Minds with the “Hello Yellow” campaign.

Our school community also embraces Pope Francis’ call to be a “Church of the Poor.” The St. Teresa’s prayer reminds us, “Christ has no body now but yours,” encouraging us to walk beside others, particularly those in need. By participating in close-to-home fundraisers like singing within the local community and supporting the Irlam Rotary Polio appeal, we aim to make a meaningful difference. This service not only helps others but also inspires our children to grow as responsible, compassionate, and contributing members of society.

Charities we support include:

Revive Charity

St Joseph’s Penny

Our Local Foodbank
