It is our intent at St Teresa’s RC Primary school to provide pupils with a high-quality education in Design and Technology.  We do this practically by using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.

All teaching of DT should follow the design, make and evaluate cycle. The design process should incorporate real life, relevant contexts to give meaning to learning. While making, children should be given choice and a range of tools to choose freely from. To evaluate, children should be able to evaluate their own products against a design criteria.  All children will review skills from previous learning and try to apply these in their next task. Self-evaluation, experimentation and questioning is key to assessing learning in DT.

Our Design Technology subject leader is Mrs McCann.
